Exposure Visit of Kandhamal to Koraput

A team from Kandhamal visited to Koraput in exposure visit to gain knowledge of the process of DMASS and SHG movement in Koraput district. The program at Koraput organized by Mission shakti and co- facilitated by NOP- Korpaut, DPMU-Analytical Cell, DRDA. Distirct Social Welfare officer- Ms. Basanti Hembram welcomed all the ICDS functionaries and SHG members to Koraput and in a magnetic view she shared about the Mission of Mission Shakti for the empowerment of women.


A presentation and sharing meeting was organized at DHQ- Koraput, where the importance and achievement of the program was briefly explained by DMASS Coordinator- MS.G Seeta Kumari. Chief Consultant – Mission Shakti Ms.Sulbha Yadav welcomed all the participants to the platform and explained the way of collective movement in the meeting and District federation as a umbrella to protect and grow the movement in a very smoother way.


NOP Consultants Dr BC Ratha & Santosh Kumar Padhy has expressed their views on Convergence approach, where as AK Limal and Arun Hial DPMU- Analytical cell gave a back drop of the program and initiation of Previous Hon’ble collector Shri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil and continue effort of present Hon’ble Collector- Koraput  Shri Sachin Yadav and his guidance here to provide a mature view to this effort.


At the second steps of the program, an plenary session was organized by the Dmass Executive body, where participants from all the blocks were represented there and shared about the IGP taken up and management of BMASS at the block level, structural approach, limitations and a way forward for sustainability for the same.


Kandhamal BCC Consultant Manoranjan Naik has provided a highlight on the further steps for convergence and opportunity to be utilized at the block level. Among others Pratyush Bishi and APMASS coordinated the process.
Field trips were organized by Mission shakti – Koraput to perceive different performance of the Mission shakti Koraput and to generate a learning moment for each other in the empowerment process.  This kind of program can enhance the opportunity for learners.


We anticipate such kind of programs in future and as a BMASS president highlighted that, they also need some exposure for further growing and glowing to this movement.
